This is a unique opportunity to work deeply in the blockchain ecosystem, helping grow a decentralized network while working with a globally distributed team. You will work on the cutting edge of decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain interoperability, solving one of the main challenges on the way to mainstream crypto adoption: trustless access to any asset on any chain.

The role

The key priority of this role is straightforward: Drive adoption and AUM of interBTC across all major blockchain networks, including Polkadot, Ethereum, Cosmos, and Solana.

Your goal as Business Development Manager is to achieve this by managing integrations with DeFi protocols, onboarding Vaults (custodians, staking operators and mining pools) and liquidity providers, as well as partnering with institutions, exchanges, and wallet providers. As opposed to traditional sales roles, your mission is to increase the value of the decentralized network and represent interests of token holders, rather than maximizing revenue for Interlay Ltd.

We are looking for someone who can execute on key value drivers, manage multiple, complex relationships, and understand the value proposition of the Interlay Network. You must be highly organized, self-sufficient and comfortable in building relationships and process at the same time. Being a “crypto-native” is not required, but you must understand the movement of blockchain space on a macro level.

Job requirements

What you will do

  • Develop partnerships with crypto-banks, custodians, validators and BTC mining pools to become service providers (Vaults) in the Interlay Network
  • Develop relations with DeFi protocols and wallet providers, and coordinate / negotiate integrations with interBTC
  • Recruit liquidity providers and market makers,
  • Devise strategies for token liquidity mining programs, collaborating with partner DeFi protocols
  • Set up strategic / listing partnerships with exchanges and crypto-banks
  • Set up and manage the complete sales cycle and coordinate internally with product managers on delivery

What you bring

  • 3+ years successful track record in a sales role, at least 1 year in a start-up
  • Good understanding of the blockchain ecosystem
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written English communication skills, including the ability to speak to different constituencies such as business development, communications, and engineering
  • Ability to work autonomously, be proactive, prioritize, communicate, and function in a small team
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty and ambiguity

“Nice to have”

  • Additional languages, such as Russian or Mandarin are a plus
  • Experience with agile processes
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, investments, or crypto exchanges
