The Role

We’re looking for a well-connected crypto-native Business Development professional to expand our reach through strategic networking and event participation. Your primary focus will be attending industry events and leveraging your relationships to generate introductions to protocols, DAOs, and Web3 projects that need our cryptoeconomic expertise. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships and connecting great teams with the right solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Active Event Participation: Regularly attend and be an active participant in NYC or another major crypto scene. Attend conferences, meetups, hackathons, and industry events (ETHDenver, Devcon, Token2049, etc.).
• Strategic Introductions: Leverage your network to connect CryptoEconLab with protocols, DAOs, and Web3 projects that need our tokenomics and incentive design expertise.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with emerging and established crypto projects seeking economic design, auditing, or optimization services.
• Community Engagement: Build CEL’s presence in key crypto communities, Discord servers, governance forums, and Twitter spaces where our target clients are active.
• Relationship Cultivation: Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with protocol founders, DAO contributors, VCs, and other ecosystem players who can refer business to us.
• Market Intelligence: Proactively monitor new protocol launches, funding rounds, and industry developments to identify and target emerging opportunities for our services.
• Sales Support: Work with our team to convert introductions into client engagements, helping communicate our capabilities and value proposition to prospective clients.

Qualifications

• Crypto-Native Experience: Minimum 2 years of business development, partnerships, or community building experience in the crypto/DeFi space with a proven track record of building relationships in Web3.
• Protocol Understanding: Deep understanding of DeFi protocols, tokenomics, governance mechanisms, and how crypto projects grow and scale their ecosystems.
• Natural Connector: Genuine passion for connecting people and projects - you love making introductions and building bridges between the right parties.
• High Energy & Drive: Enthusiastic, proactive approach to networking and business development with the stamina to thrive at events and maintain multiple relationships.
• Curious & Quick Learner: Loves learning about new protocols, economic mechanisms, and crypto innovations - can quickly understand complex concepts and stay ahead of industry trends.
• Relationship Builder: Builds authentic, lasting relationships - people enjoy working with you and trust your recommendations.
• Event Experience: Track record of effectively networking at crypto conferences and events, with ability to build meaningful connections that translate into business opportunities.
• Communication Excellence: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to represent CryptoEconLab professionally and articulate our value proposition clearly to diverse audiences.

Bonus Points

• You have direct experience working with or launching DeFi protocols, particularly in lending, DEX, or novel mechanism design.
• Mathematical or software engineering background that helps you understand and communicate our technical research and design work.
• You’ve participated in DAO governance as a delegate or contributor (desirable but not required).
• Previous experience in crypto consulting, advisory, or professional services.
• Active contributor to crypto research, Twitter/X, or thought leadership content.
