Within the next decade, investing will be decentralized, democratized, and community-driven. Syndicate is building the infrastructure to enable this at scale—we’re developing decentralized investing and social networking protocols, advanced legal tech solutions, and a next-gen social networking platform that empowers communities to raise, coordinate, and invest capital like never before.

Founded in Jan 2021, we’ve raised over $20M from values-aligned leaders who represent a diverse array of industries and communities, including firms like Andreessen Horowitz and its Cultural Leadership Fund, IDEO CoLab Ventures, Variant, Electric Capital, and over 200 others. We’ve also partnered with and received investment from over 100 community partners.

Our first product allows anyone to start an investing syndicate on the Ethereum for just the cost of gas. The typical fees to set up an investing syndicate average $12,000 which allows us to be up to 1,200x less expensive than traditional methods. We’re using public blockchain technology to expand access to venture capital for entrepreneurs around the world because we believe that venture capital should be widely available rather than only accessible in a small handful of cities.

The Role

Syndicate is embarking on the ambitious mission to build a decentralized, democratized, and community-driven investing future. To achieve this vision, we need to craft an innovative suite of products and protocols. This role will play a key role in building out our new products function, which serves as Syndicate’s innovation and prototyping engine. In this role, you will conduct human-centered product development, including product ideation, rigorous validation, and beta customer testing.

This role would be perfect for you if you pride yourself in being a multidisciplinary creator, embrace learning through complexity, and have a bias towards action. This position will set you up well for product leadership roles or provide you with the perfect foundation to become an entrepreneur.

We welcome applicants from anywhere in North America, but given the collaborative nature of engineering, the hours you choose must have several hours of overlap with San Francisco’s and New York’s time zones.

You Will:

• Collaborate with the leadership team in crafting and defining Syndicate’s new product strategy and roadmap
• Scope new products through market research and customer conversations
• Rapidly prototype new products using frontend tools (e.g., Typescript, React, Redux, GraphQL, etc.)
• Iteratively build and test new products with our ecosystem of community members and users
• Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and product teams to share learnings to inform product build
• Pair with the new products lead to build out the experimentation function

Requirements:

• Comfort in partnering closely with customers to identify user needs and spec out product requirements
• Experience using React, Node.js, and Typescript in a production environment
• Familiarity with building for, and deploying on, modern cloud services such as AWS and GCP
• You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments
• Superb communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Nice to Haves:

• Good design intuition and interest in building human-centered product
• Previous experience building something that you’re passionate about
• Familiarity with popular UI or CSS frameworks like Theme UI, Tailwind CSS, and Material UI
• Experience interacting with core web3 tooling such as web3.js, Infura, and MetaMask API
• Familiarity with Solidity contracts
