Sarson Funds is hiring a Portfolio Manager to focus on idea generation, investment analysis, trading, and fundraising. As a senior member on the investment team, you will learn about the hedge fund and cryptocurrency industries, get exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and working with a deeply experienced investment team.
This role is open to candidates based in the US. You can join us in our Boston or Indianapolis (preferred) offices, or remote.
The primary responsibilities of the Portfolio Manager can be broken down into four areas:
- Idea Generation - proactively identifying new investment opportunities and qualifying leads within the context of fund mandates.
- Investment Analysis - helping the team evaluate new investment opportunities through quantitative and qualitative research, product reviews, competitive analysis, KPI analysis, and technical diligence.
- Portfolio Analysis - collaborating with the team to analyze positions on an ongoing basis within the context of stated mandates, macro cycle, and emergent trends.
- Fundraising - being an active contributor to fundraising efforts by participating in local events, attending conferences, and ability to access high net worth networks.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Passion for blockchain/cryptocurrencies, and native understanding of blockchain technology
- 4-6 years of relevant work experience in an investment professional role
- Proven track record of execution within an investment manager role
- Strong understanding of risk associated with investments in cryptocurrencies, as well as market risks
- Familiarity with relevant regulations both within the cryptocurrency space (current and emergent), as well as institutional investment management preferred
- Experience reviewing white papers, crypto projects, chain analysis, and other analysis techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills underlying exceptional client service
- History of being proactive within previous roles
- High standard of quality for analysis, reporting, and external communications
- An ability to work well within a team and be self-guided on a day-to-day basis
- Flexibility to travel on an as-needed basis
