About Interlay
We envision a future where blockchains seamlessly connect and interact: anyone can use any digital asset on any blockchain, trustless and without limitations. We work with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos and others to expand interoperability, capital efficiency and openness.
Our flagship product is interBTC - Bitcoin on any blockchain. A 1:1 Bitcoin-backed asset, fully collateralized, interoperable, and censorship-resistant, realizing the true free nature of BTC and decentralized finance.
At Interlay, we live decentralization and transparency. We’re 100% remote and all our code is open source. We’re not anonymous - we stand by our product. Our projects are community-owned and backed by top-tier scientific papers. Founded by ex-Imperial College PhDs, we collaborate with leading research labs and tech companies around the world.
The role
We are looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the Interlay cross-chain network. The networks consist of participants including Vaults, users, and collators. Each of those actors can use the platform in different ways.
As the Product Manager, your role is to improve the product. You have full access to our community and the team to source the current pain points and wishes of mainly Vaults and collators and to a minor degree the users. As a seasoned product manager, you will discuss these pain points and wishes with the Interlay team to assist in developing a roadmap. You are great at communicating and figuring out quick wins. Next, you take the outcome of the product discussions and write the new feature requests down into epics with clear success criteria. As the last step of the process, you are the point of contact to inform our key stakeholders, Vaults and collators, of new releases and help communicate the release timelines.
We are a very tech and research-focused company. If you wish to hack smaller features yourself, you are more than welcome to do that.
What you will do
- Product: Regularly interact with new and current Vaults, collators, and users to figure out what wishes the community has and how the product can be improved. Moreover, you are regularly in touch with the Interlay team members about new product ideas.
- Roadmap: In discussion with the Interlay team, you are able to improve and extend the current roadmap. This includes regularly updating the feature epics and their success criteria as well as assessing priorities on a regular basis.
- Onboarding: You are able to help onboard and train new Vaults, collators and users, by writing up guides and improving the documentation.
- Release coordination: You are the main communication point between the dev team and Vault and collator operators, coordinating the release process and ensuring timelines are clearly communicated.
What you bring
- You are very communicative and love to talk with people to improve a product. * You are comfortable doing this in a remote and asynchronous team setup.
- You have worked in a start-up before and know how to prioritize, communicate, and document feature requests.
- You have built product roadmaps before.
- You enjoy working with bleeding-edge technology start-ups. You are very knowledgeable in an area such as FinTech, AI, or crypto.
- You have experience with working in an agile environment and have coordinated / helped coordinate release processes for live software
Nice to have
- You are familiar with crypto and/or Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
- You have worked with Bitcoin and/or Polkadot before.
