Blockchain Investment Analyst

An international fund management firm specialising in credit and blockchain investments seeks to employ an analyst to research opportunities in the crypto and digital asset space. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Blockchain technology who is looking to transition into the world of finance and asset management.

You will work with a team of experienced finance professionals. You will be the lead analyst on a Crypto asset fund, supporting the portfolio manager in the day-to-day management of the fund. You will actively contribute to analysis and decision making for the overall portfolio.

Responsibilities:

The role will involve:

• Performing detailed, bottom up, fundamental research on the use cases for a given crypto project and determining the potential for it to add significant utility and future value
• This analysis will extend to examining the robustness and executability of the project from all technical and fundamentals aspects including an assessment of its investors, users, developers and creators
• Preparing research reports and forming opinions on the case for a given crypto project
• Preparing on-going monitoring, risk assessment and attribution analysis reports for the fund
• Supporting the management of the crypto asset fund and actively contributing to idea generation, risk management, and trade execution
• Reconciling monthly fund performance reports and helping to prepare monthly investor news letters
• Assisting in the generation of market commentary and preparation of formal and informal analysis on the investment portfolio
• Assisting in the development of client reporting and marketing material Skills & Qualifications
• Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Science / Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
• An interest or qualification in Financial Markets is also desired

Requirements:

• Strong technical understanding of leading blockchain protocols
• Practical experience in designing and implementing Blockchain, DLT solutions
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Java, C++, JavaScript, Python and Solidity
• Solid understanding of Cryptography, Encryption, and Automation
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent quantitative, problem solving and teamwork skills
• Core financial modelling and valuation experience is advantageous
• Fascination with the crypto ecosystem demonstrated by actively following crypto markets
• Experience working with fin-techs / start-ups in the blockchain / DLT space a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Word and Access an advantage)
