About the Role

CISO-as-a-Service is one of Halborn’s top priority services. We’re seeking 1-3 powerhouse CISOs to grow and build an expanded practice to build best practices for the world’s leading blockchain protocols and centralized financial institutions.

  • Develop and communicate a risk-based and data-driven strategy and roadmap for several high profile blockchain protocols. with c-suite, engineering and customers.
  • Effective communicate and align with key stakeholders including c-suite, engineering and customers.
  • Provide beyond an exceptional level of service to our clients.

  • Coach and encourage others to model these values.
  • Oversee the management of unified offensive security projects.
  • Lead initiatives to build control framework to integrate and normalize the wide variety and ever-changing requirements resulting from a fast paced industry.
  • Provide regular reporting on the current status of the information security program to business leaders and the board of directors as part of a strategic enterprise risk management program.
  • Ensure that security programs are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies to minimize or eliminate risk and audit findings.
  • Engage with external communities and activities to maintain good perspective on information security practices at peer organizations and the threat environment; promote and increase organizational ability to address common problems. Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action.
  • Work closely with legal/compliance team to ensure that all practices and policies related to IT security are free from bias and discrimination, appropriate understanding of regulatory requirements, and appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Motivate and lead a diverse, high-performing team, utilizing effective talent management practices to attract and retain team members. Ensure high levels of employee engagement, operations performance excellence, commitment to continuous learning and appropriate succession planning
  • Analyze and select alternatives based on threat, risk, desirability, feasibility, and viability
  • Advise executive decision makers based on business and technology risks
  • Maintain close ties to developers across the company, ensuring the services we create meet their needs as products evolve
  • Iterate quickly and see the products through to from idea phase to production and scale
  • Establish product value propositions, metrics, and key indicators
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead talent to be their best

Responsibilities + Requirements:

  • Experience taking seeds of ideas through to execution, production and scale.
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 1+ years of experience in Information Security
  • At least 3 years of experience translating strategy into product requirements and key objectives
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highest level of attention to detail

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience professionally or casually learning about, working in, contributing to cryptocurrency / blockchain / bitcoin / ethereum related projects.
  • Experience in any sector of cybersecurity / information security / infosec
  • An MBA
  • CISSP, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or any relevant cybersecurity related certifications
