Product Manager, Blockchain

At cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, our mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.

Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application that launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.

cLabs is seeking a Product Manager to join our Platform Product team. As a Platform Product partner you will be responsible for owning a part of the Celo platform from planning, executing, to delivering your part of the Celo protocol. You will have the opportunity to shape and grow within the role.In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the vision and drive the execution of the Celo protocol. You will:

• Own blockchain product initiatives for the Celo platform: from ideation through to launch and ongoing performance analysis
• Identify stakeholder needs and turn them into product requirements
• Work closely with crypto engineering team to develop innovative solutions that provide maximum value to protocol stakeholders
• Own the product roadmap and manage the product backlog
• Work with engineering to define priorities, timelines, milestones, and sprints
• Work with the Marketing & Communications and Developer Relations teams to coordinate initiative launches
• Help create and deliver technical content for the community such as blog posts, presentations, and workshops
• Encourage and celebrate diversity in the communities you build

You have:

• 4+ years of product management experience
• A technical background, CS degree or relevant experience
• Experience working on a crypto project and a passion for cryptography
• A passion for coming up with ways to address business problems through the use of cutting edge technology
• Experience taking features from a hypothesis to delivering value to real users
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated the ability to work both independently and as a team
• Demonstrated proactiveness and problem solving skills
• Familiarity and passion for cryptography
• BONUS: Product management experience on technical or R&D open source projects
• BONUS: Experience with GitHub and/or ZenHub
