Twice a year we bring together the most ambitious web3 founders for an intense 12-week sprint to hone their value proposition, test their assumptions with real customers and prepare for the next phase of investment and growth

We do that by giving teams seed capital, one-on-one mentorship with a vast global network of web3 builders, entrepreneurs, and investors, weekly programming to help them move rapidly through the product maze on their path to becoming a high-growth venture-backable business. The program culminates in a Demo Day

Over 60% of our alumni raised sig follow-on rounds within 6 months of program completion and we continue to build long-term value of our portfolio through our Alumni network which serves as a portfolio management platform.

About the Role

Tachyon is looking for an experienced Program Manager and Operations Lead to help scale our team, transition to a DAO, and help us scale our remote-program as we back even more founders around the world on our mission to support the most ambitious Web3 founders.

Main Responsibilities and Attributes Required:

  • Organize all playbooks and resources in central repository; organized, keen attention to detail, how-you-do-anything-is-how-you-do-everything approach to quality;
  • Strategizes and documents detailed plans for the full life-cycle of program; strong strategic thinking, written communication, translates thoughts into actions that can be tracked
  • Execute on daily planning/scheduling tasks to make sure the right people are doing the right things at the right time; capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines while under pressure of time constraints
  • Anticipates problems before they arise; expects the unexpected and plans around it; thinks through every possible edge-case, imagines any unlikely side-effects that might arise; asks ‘what could go wrong here?’ and takes action to make sure things go right; proactive
  • Troubleshoots operational issues when they come up (scheduling conflicts, missing information, errors, etc.); good judgment and problem solving skills; a natural sense of urgency. If you dislike bold-face emails in your inbox, great!
  • Understands and cares about the big picture in order to make the best decisions/execute on the details; asks ‘what more do I need to know before I can make a call?’
  • Interfaces and negotiates with internal and external stakeholders to get things done; communicates with clarity and emotional intelligence; a people person
  • Support data-driven efforts and improve the founder experience by tracking data and reporting on surveys, and providing key insights and trends to internal teams
  • Support program staff by executing repeatable operational tasks such as opening new applications, tracking internal speaker requests, and supporting data requests
  • Support cross-department collaboration by coordinating with Marketing and Implementation teams on the accelerator spin-up and wind-down process and owning the accelerator global schedule coordination process

Daily and Weekly Responsibilities

  • Working with the team to build Innovation / Incubation / Acceleration programming for global, remote-first founders: Remote programs, hybrid programs, programming modules, programming phases, programming office hours structures, programming mentor/advisor structure, programming investor day, programming demo day
  • Build work-back plans for each major phase of a program, and coordinate all people/orgs/stakeholders for each phase:
    • Cohort Recruitment
    • Application/Assessment/Selection
    • Program Prep: Founder prep, Investment readiness
    • Program Launch
    • Investor Day Early Look
    • Demo Day
  • Codify, organize and store program toolkits to help the team run our programming and turn around new programs much faster: version control, documentation and naming schemas, etc
  • Running retros and post-program innovation analysis for each cohort to iterate and help the team take each element apart from each phase of the program, figure out what worked, what iterations do we want to make, and plan them out - who are the people we need? What kind of budget? What new tools do we need?
  • Running team standups and orchestrating who/what/where/when/how for the day/week using project management tools
    • Monday Big Rocks and momentum planning
    • Daily Standup
    • Friday Week Cap Week Forward
  • Running program logistics, including:
    • Scheduling Calendar ofc hours for founders in multiple timezones
      • Program Director ofc hours
      • Mg Director ofc hours
    • Setting up mentor/advisor ofc hours
    • Schedule sessions in the program calendar and program guide (single source of truth for each cohort)
      • Weekly Rituals: Big Rocks, BBM (phase 2), PPF (phase 3), Founder Fridays, Thirsty Thursdays Show & Tell
      • Daily Programming, Deep Week Programming
      • Booking outside speakers and following up, scheduling, confirming attendance, thanking afterward
  • Help establish systems, protocols and best practices for running and documenting office hours:
    • Video recordings documented in Program Guide
    • Notes documented in Program Guide
    • Phase Focus templates/best practices for each stakeholder:
      • Managing Director
      • Program Directors
      • Mentors/Advisors
  • Project managing offer tracking and investment readiness and follow-on funding to completion and coordinating with all key stakeholders: Managing Director, Legal, Finance, Portfolio and Token Management

Qualifications

  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
  • Experience with budget and business plan development
  • Ability to plan, manage, streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Experience with Google Docs, Airtable, Notion, Slack power user, task management tools like Asana and a strong curiosity for web3 tools

  • Passionate about disrupting venture and making it look more like a community-driven DAO and want to be a part of that mission
  • Have spent time exploring web3 primitives like DAOs, crypto and token governance, DIDs and VCs, distributed compute and are passionate about the potential of these technologies to transform society
  • Interest and curiosity in web3/crypto, technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital
