Head of Legal and Business Operations

We’re hiring a Head of Legal and Business Operations who will report directly to the COO to lead legal, regulatory, and operational activities across the firm. This is a senior, cross-functional role supporting fund governance, compliance, deal structuring, and strategic execution. You’ll work closely with leadership and external partners to ensure Re7 operates with institutional-grade precision as we expand globally.

Responsibilities:

Legal & Compliance

• Challenge and support commercial deal structuring and negotiation.
• Manage regulatory licensing and advise on cross-jurisdictional legal structures and licensing expansion.
• Ensure compliance across sales, marketing, product development and corporate communications
• Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of product development
• Handle legal entity governance, restructurings, IP protection, and data privacy compliance.
• Oversee supplier contracts to maximise value and align with company standards.

Business Operations

• Collaborate with C-suite and drive strategic & firm-wide initiatives
• Embed the strategic agenda into firm-wide off-sites & town halls.
• Proactively identify and resolve operational and legal challenges across the firm.
• Drive organisational design, continuous process improvement, training, and business continuity.
• Maintain and enforce internal policies and compliance.
• Oversee recruitment & onboarding of new team members.

Information Security

• Ensure information security policies evolve in line with emerging threats and the firm’s growth.
• Enhance team awareness and monitor compliance.
• Manage security vendors and coordinate audits and remediation with tech teams.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure processes align with internal risk and governance frameworks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal and operations experience within crypto, asset management or financial services
• Exposure to digital assets and crypto-native legal frameworks
• Qualified lawyer or equivalent experience in a senior legal function
• Strong understanding of financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. FCA, SEC, MiCA, offshore fund regimes)
• Proven experience managing legal entity structuring, fund governance, and cross-border legal operations
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations, IP protection, and information security best practices
• Experience working with external counsel and regulators
• Ability to manage business operations, compliance programs, and vendor relationships
