The firm works with founders, investors, and ecosystem participants globally to support the growth and maturity of the digital asset space.

About the role

This is a fixed-term position covering maternity.

• Looking for a mid-level to senior lawyer (5PQE+) to work directly with the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and Finance Director, supporting all aspects of the firm’s legal department.
• Providing strategic legal input to the firm’s investment and operational decision-making.
• Overseeing the contract management process across the firm’s investment, operational, and project-related activities.
• Ensuring relevant legal and regulatory developments are reflected in the firm’s practices and processes.
• Monitoring relevant legal and regulatory changes, and providing thought leadership both internally and externally.
• Advising on the legal aspects of portfolio management activities, including structuring, documentation, and transaction execution.
• Supporting corporate structuring and restructuring initiatives across the firm and its related entities, as required.
• Supporting internal corporate governance and compliance.
• Advise and support the Board of Directors if required.
• Reporting to Finance Director and working closely with Chief Investment Officer.

Who we are looking for

• 5+PQE* lawyer (ideally UK qualified (solicitor) but other jurisdictions also considered),
• well-rounded experience across corporate law, venture practice, gained either in private practice or in an in-house role, and an understanding on the legal and regulatory issues around cryptocurrency;
• sound commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to communicate risk vs reward in a fast moving environment;
• personal involvement in blockchain and decentralised technology or a strong interest in developing an expertise in it;
• have demonstrated a diverse set of areas of expertise and being able to apply your existing knowledge to new questions;
• have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders (i.e. company directors, partners and clients), prioritising requirements to ensure the best outcome for both the stakeholders and OV;
• have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively;
• proven to have a high level of planning and attention to detail;
• good organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure; and
• ability to recognize priorities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
