Senior Accountant

Open source software delivers billions of dollars per year in economic value, but the developers themselves often aren’t properly incentivized or compensated. At Gitcoin, it is our mission to solve this problem.

Gitcoin is an incentivization power-tool for open source software projects. Our mission is to grow & sustain open source software, most commonly in web3 ecosystems. We have helped software developers raise over $13mm by enabling institutions and the community to fund each other with cryptocurrency. This means, gone are the days of relying on user-extraction models to build and sustain businesses, networks, and products.

If you are interested in growing web3 ecosystems in a way that enables Gitcoin to capture a portion of the value we create, then we need to chat more. We seek to hire an Accountant to help us define financial procedures and confirm financial compliance through new processes and fillings. You will be our expert trusted with preparing and analyzing Gitcoin’s financial records.

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
• Prepare and file tax returns
• Enter accounting related information into business logs to ensure accurate and timely accounts receivable processing
• Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
• Organize and update financial records
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
• Reconcile monthly bank settlements
• Prepare documentation quarterly for the board of directors
• Reconcile crypto transactions monthly (bonus)

About you

• You’re impeccably detail-oriented, are highly organized, and can both offer and accept help when the situation calls for it
• You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
• Ideally you have at least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports
• Strong understanding of US tax regulations and big plus for knowledge in the crypto space
