Responsibilities
- Review AP and AR transactions posted by the Bookkeeper for accuracy and proper GL coding
- Review, verify and reconcile account activity to ensure accuracy and consistency with corporate accounting policies & procedures
- Processing Bill Payments for review and approval
- Review and approve Invoices to Clients
- Review and approve Payroll (semi-monthly)
- Reconcile Banks, Credit Cards and Cryptocurrency balances
- Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts and maintain supporting schedules
- Responsible for preparing month-end adjusting entries & maintaining schedules and backup
- Assist with preparation of month-end Financial Reporting Package for review and internal use
- Update Project Financials with actuals for monthly variance analysis
- GST/HST and Payroll Source Deductions reconciliations and filing
- Payroll Reconciliations to ensure accuracy and allocations by Project/Division
- Year-end Payroll tax reconciliations and filings (Source Deductions, EHT, T4s, T4A)
- Assist with Review and Audit engagements
- Assist with preparation of year-end Financials for income tax purposes
- Perform ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- Have or working towards a CPA designation (Tax & Assurance path is a MUST)
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience
- Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience processing Payroll in Canada and/or US
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and G Suite
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team to effectively complete multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
