gm frens,

This month, Cryptocurrency Jobs turns 8.

My journey began with the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies course. Like many, I fell down the rabbit hole and wanted to contribute however I could.

So, in October 2017, I launched Cryptocurrency Jobs.

Since then, I’ve lived through the highs and lows of the market. But like many of you, I stayed, kept building, and kept believing.

Over these 8 years, Cryptocurrency Jobs has featured over 25,000 jobs from 2,000+ teams and published 560+ newsletter issues–all free and accessible to everyone.

But those are just numbers.

What matters most are the people. The conversations, the friendships, the stories of how this platform helped you find your place in crypto. The outsized returns it’s delivered to the community–that’s what drives me to keep building every day.

Still, job boards get a bad rap these days. Some of the criticism is fair, but not all job boards are built the same.

We’ve all seen the tweets and the dunking for engagement. But Crypto Twitter’s changed. It’s more about clout, yapping, and AI slop these days. Scroll through the comments, and you’ll see people who’ve used this platform to find talent. It’s easy to dismiss something as unsexy or “old school” as a job board, and there’s no token or hype. Yet when it works, it really works. And even when it doesn’t lead to a hire, there’s still value.

The impact of Cryptocurrency Jobs often happens quietly, behind the scenes.

Over the years, Cryptocurrency Jobs has touched almost every corner of this space: wallets, DeFi protocols, staking providers, L1s and L2s, NFTs, RWAs, oracles, CEXs and DEXs, AI x crypto, bridges, stablecoins, insurance, hardware, developer tooling, accelerators and incubators, venture capital, DAOs, data, infrastructure, media, payments–you name it. These are the products and services we use every day, built by some of the people who found their way through this platform.

Beyond the job board, I’ve advocated for this industry in mainstream media–on record and behind the scenes–helping provide context on the crypto job market. Data from the platform has even informed reporting shared with policymakers.

And for many, a job board is the first stop into the space. I remember someone telling me they got their first crypto role here, then years later came back as a VC-backed founder and used the platform to build their team. Another message I received recently said: “Thanks for the support. I actually found [redacted] through you guys. Changing lives.” That kind of impact is hard to measure, but it means everything.

Maybe a job board isn’t so bad after all. Maybe we just need to rethink what–and who–we value in this space.

Either way, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll keep building, supporting, and keeping Cryptocurrency Jobs open and accessible to all. No gatekeeping. Everyone’s welcome. Everyone has a place in crypto.

Cryptocurrency Jobs remains independent, bootstrapped, and run entirely by me. I handle the code, design, support–everything.

But I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

To all the crypto curious, newsletter subscribers, contributors, partners, followers, and visitors: thank you for your support and for making this journey possible.

And to all the teams, partners, and sponsors who’ve trusted Cryptocurrency Jobs with their hiring needs: thank you for your support and confidence.

Here’s to what’s next.

Company spotlight

This week I highlight Sapience.

Sapience is building onchain prediction markets with deep liquidity for arbitrary parlay positions, bootstrapped by an HLP-style community vault.

Their batch auction protocol improves execution for retail traders and protects LPs from toxic flow. They’re redefining how people speculate, hedge, and forecast onchain.
