Events Lead

About us:

ZKValidator is a mission driven validator aiming to raise the profile of zero knowledge and privacy technology in the blockchain space. We currently operate across eight proof-of-stake blockchain networks each of which you will be exploring in this role as well as additional networks. Our small team consists of members with extensive and varied experience in the blockchain space and specifically in the zero knowledge community.

The Role:

You will be responsible for running our network and company events. In the coming quarter we have at least 2 online events and 1 in person event planned (travel restrictions dependent). We would also likely have a team retreat during this period. We are looking for an experienced events manager to take ownership of these events, including the marketing and logistics.

The role is remote but we have current team members based in Berlin, Lisbon and the UK. If you are based in any of these cities, then we could also host you in a co-working place with colleagues. We are looking for someone who can start the role immediately.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Creation of event marketing strategies
• Budgeting for each event
• Drafting of blogs, tweets and other marketing material
• Scouting a venue / setting up online platform
• Logistics management
• Speaker and sponsor management
• Possible volunteer management
• Creating additional post-event media and content.

The ideal candidate would:

• Have extensive events management - both online and offline
• Have a proven track record of organization and project management skills
• Have the experience of having run events from top to bottom
• Be proactive, independent and creative - you are not afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and initiate new activities.
• Be familiar with blockchain communities and the communication and social channels most used by them. However, you do not need to be an expert on the subject matter.
• Be an excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communicator.
• A passion for blockchain and previous experience in the space.

It would be great if you also had:

• Previous work experience in a startup environment.
• Been part of a blockchain community or initiative.
