About the Team

The Growth Core Unit aims to grow the available distribution channels for the Maker protocol by intelligently deploying the human and financial capital given by the DAO, increasing the supply and demand of DAI in the global markets. The key channels we wish to expand are the (1) ability of borrowers to generate DAI, (2) the ability of users to buy and sell DAI, and (3) the ability of users to perform a useful activity with DAI.

• To do so, each member of the Growth CU will be in charge of a segment, vertical, or geography to:
• Understand the Maker protocol market fit.
• Give support and education to drive DAI adoption and integrations.
• Generate expansion and adoption of DAI.
• Develop an integration strategy and give continuous advice to the newest distribution channels.
• Create a success plan to track integration outcomes.
• Review the status of the oldest integrations to help them to grow in the usage of DAI.

What you will do:

1. Sourcing for new projects in the DeFi ecosystem on other fast growing networks, specifically Ethereum but also other layer 1 protocols, ie. Polkadot, Solana, Avalanche etc.
2. Do research and development in potential multi-chain and cross-chain collaboration in Asia’s ecosystem.
3. Engage and educate traditional finance about DeFi, MakerDAO protocol and the importance of building trust through transparency.
4. Coordinate AMAs (Ask Me Anything) and speaking opportunities at high profile conferences in Asia, ie, Singapore Fintech Festival, Token2049, ETH Dubai etc. and attend/organise crypto events and conferences.
5. Be responsible for providing updated regulatory updates especially for countries such as China, India, Australia, Korea and Japan and keeping abreast of emerging trends in each region.
6. Maintaining relationships with existing dapps integrated to MakerDAO and talk to the projects to see what are the new opportunities.
7. Gathering insights from external partners and share it with other Core Units such as Protocol Engineering and Real World Finance.

Job requirements

About you

1. Understanding on how DAOs works (it is not your typical organisation), ie. you manage your own health insurance and work pass.
2. You have amazing research skills and you are passionate about crypto.
3. 3+ years working in the crypto or tech industry.
4. Grit and determination to learn. Also you are self-motivated and you like working independently with minimal supervision.
5. You are an open person and you enjoy talking to people, evangelizing, going to meet-ups and sharing knowledge on everything connected to blockchain/cryptos.
6. You are based in the APAC region and you don’t mind travelling to relevant and exciting blockchain/crypto events in the region (once per month, 2-3 days).
