About Interlay

Our mission is to realize the full potential of Bitcoin and decentralized finance. We want you to easily earn passive income on your Bitcoin by investing into financial products on any blockchain - in a completely trustless and transparent manner.

We are building a decentralized network of cross-chain bridges, “a network to connect them all”. We work with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, and others, shipping the key infrastructure for interoperable applications. Our flagship product is PolkaBTC, the trustless Bitcoin-Polkadot bridge, built in collaboration with Parity Technologies, funded by the Web3 Foundation.

We value decentralization and transparency: we are a 100% remote company and our code is open source. We are founded by ex-Imperial College CS PhDs and we live a research-driven approach: our products are backed by top-tier scientific papers and we collaborate with leading research labs around the world.

The role

We are hiring a Community, Marketing and Ecosystem Lead role to assist Interlay with outreach and community development efforts.

You will be joining an ambitious team with multi-year expertise in blockchain protocols, security and cryptography. There will be a steep learning curve, we will expect you to stay up to date with technological developments, and you will be encouraged to apply your ideas.

What you will do

• Actively engage with the Interlay user community over various social media channels such as Telegram, Discord, and Twitter
• Work under the CEO to architect ane execute the Community/Ecosystem and Social Media Strategies
• Keep track of protocol development and handle public outreach (blog posts writing, organising hackathons, incentivized testnets, competitions, etc.)
• Work in close collaboration with the CEO on identifying, prioritizing, and executing strategic outreach and media campaigns

What you bring

• Track record of building communities in the open source / blockchain space
• Understanding of the dynamics of the DeFi space
• Excellent English language communication skills
• Readiness to learn, understand, and explain new technologies
• Experience using Discord, Twitter, Telegram, and other social media
• Excellent writing skills with good attention to detail

“Nice to have”

• Technical understanding of blockchains
• Degree in Computer Science or similar
• Track record in organising events such as hackathons
