Community Manager (Western European Time working hours)

• Location: We encourage qualified applicants from anywhere in the world to apply but working hours must align closely with Western European Time working hours.

• Reporting: The Community Manager will report to the Director of Marketing.

Position overview:

We are looking for an experienced Community Manager passionate about blockchain, web3 and DeFi to help maintain and grow Civic’s social channels. Our ideal team member is already nested in the world of blockchain, and capable of being an ambassador, educator, and evangelist of Civic.

Civic is powered by the open-source, blockchain-based ecosystem of its nonprofit partner, identity.com. The Civic Community Manager would work with Identity’s Community Manager to ensure clarity in messaging and positioning around both brands for the community.

This role additionally requires working cross-functionally with Civic company leadership, marketing, business development, product, and visual designers.

Responsibilities:

• Grow and manage our developer community on Discord
• Grow and manage our general community on Twitter and LinkedIn
• Craft blog and social media posts on a range of topics of interest to our community
• Protect the community from spam, misinformation, and irrelevant posts
• Communicate new product features and updates on a regular cadence to the community
• Synthesize insights from community interactions and surface critical issues to the team
• Understand and resolve barriers to consumption of Civic tools and technologies for developers

Must haves:

• Experience working in blockchain
• Interest in developer-focused communities
• 2 years of experience growing social media communities, especially ones geared towards developers
• Experience in generating discussions and engaging in online communities
• Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely
• A customer-centric mindset
• Knowledge of DeFi, web3.0, NFT a plus
