Chainflip is a blockchain project that uses multi-party-computation and threshold signature schemes to allow our decentralised validator network to secure assets across multiple arbitrarily differentiated blockchain networks, with the ultimate goal of allowing users to swap between various cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchains in a trustless and programmatic way.
In other less jargony words, Chainflip is a cross-chain AMM. It’s like Uniswap for everything. If you’ve been around crypto long enough, you might even remember Shapeshift in the pre-KYC days. That is what we are building. Users will be able to go to a website, enter what they want to swap, and then send assets in a single transaction to a unique deposit address. After some time, the asset they wanted to swap to will appear in the wallet that they specified. That’s it - a single step cross-chain bridging process that is cost efficient, highly liquid, and extremely convenient. It’s a trader’s dream.
Building this is a very tightly coupled engineering challenge, one that we’ve been working on for over a year. It is a multidisciplinary exercise in distributed systems, decentralised finance, blockchain consensus mechanisms, cyber security, applied cryptography, and front end tooling. But all that being said, one of the largest challenges that we face as a team comes after the protocol has launched: building the user base. Our mission is to build a decentralised spot trading protocol which is so good that at least 1 million users choose to permanently switch away from centralised exchanges.

What’s the job?
We’re looking for humans who spend much of their day reading and talking about crypto. In this communications role, our Crypto Culture Coordinators will produce content, community campaigns, conduct business development, talk to the Chainflip and wider crypto community, monitor analytics, and build the community and userbase of Chainflip.
At the moment, Chainflip is a pre-product project. The token also hasn’t been launched. This is quite a challenging environment to build the community in, requiring lots of creativity to generate cut though and engagement. It also requires a deep understanding of the culture of the crypto space, with advanced intuition of the language, sentiment, and communications styles at play.
As the project advances, the game will change. In the next 12 months Chainflip will go from a niche DeFi technology project to a fully fledged decentralised exchange. We will then be competing with the big boys like Bianance for spot trading volume. This means we will have to change gears, expand the team, and work hard to leverage our unique user experience to dominate the cross-chain exchange space. We hope you will join the communications team at the beginning of this process and enjoy the challenge as part of an evolving project.
Who you’d work with?
The beating heart of our communications team is based in Berlin. You would be working directly with Robbie, head of communications, who has years experience leading the customer support team at BitMEX, once the world’s largest crypto derivatives exchange. You would also directly interface with Simon (CEO) and Tom (CTO) as required.
The wider team consists of over 20 people mostly in Berlin, and most of them are engineers. Over time, you would be part of this growing arm of the project, which may expand to as many as 10 people within the next 12 months.
Who should apply?
If you’re willing to relocate to Berlin, have dedicated the majority of your productive time to the industry over at least the last 12 months, and are excited about the possibility of using your creativity to engage, entertain, and educate the crypto community as a whole, this one’s for you. We do accept remote candidates, but only in more limited community management and user support roles.
For this role, formal experience in a marketing and communications role is not necessarily required. You will be required to demonstrate your writing skills, and technical skills also would help, but aren’t required. Everything from writing, research, community management, cultural engagement, web design, analytics, SEO, graphic design, video, and audio production through to protocol design, governance, yield farming, and NFT minting are all relevant skills for this role. The more flexible and dynamic you can be, the more we think you’ll love this role.
Salaries and Token packages are on offer that are commensurate with skill and experience. Please indicate your expected salary range when applying, and we will take that into consideration during the interview process.
The process:
Please submit your CV for review. If you have examples of your writing please also include them. A screening call will be conducted by our operations manager. From there, if successful, a followup call with the Communications Lead and CEO will take place. This whole process can take as little as 1 week for the right candidate, but of course we take each candidate on a case by case basis.
