Polkadot provides the underlying trust primitives to our parachain, upon which we’ve built our suite of financial primitives including; Multi-collateralized Stablecoin; Trustless Staking Derivatives, and Unified Decentralized Exchange. These primitives will be used by us and other teams to power open DeFi innovations, and burn away all need for the parasitic intermediaries that inhabit almost every conventional trust-based financial system.

About the role

As the Growth Strategy Manager for Acala your role will focus on remotely running targeted Digital Marketing projects, and data-driven Social Media campaigns, inside the growing Polkadot blockchain universe. Reporting to the VP of Growth, this is a sole contributor role that will lead our Social Media strategy across multiple channels to create and/or curate content that drives our growing audience toward the impending mass-market adoption of Polkadot over its somewhat-limited predecessors like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

We’ve built 2 blockchain protocol products, Acala & Karura. These protocols are aimed at other blockchain developers who utilise our network of DeFi services to build their own blockchain applications within Polkadot. We’ve already launched Karura and caught the community’s attention link, but as we work our way towards the 2021/2 auctions that will allow us to launch Acala we need an even bigger and more focused social outreach effort into the wider blockchain community. This is where we’re hoping that you can help us.

Our ideal candidate will be a DeFi fanatic and an experienced Digital Marketer or Social Media Manager who has already worked with blockchain content and the channels in which it is published [Twitter, Discord, Reddit, etc]. But high click-rate content alone won’t be enough, we need a strategic thinker that can manage a 3-6 month-long campaign that climaxes in another crowdfund auction like the one we recently won by a landslide in June link.

What you’ll do

• Run a targeted Growth Strategy for Acala’s Polkadot-based DeFi platform
• Lead analysis of data-driven programs to expand our user / developer communities
• Be the main POC and build strong relationships with 3rd party platform contributors
• Own all English language community channels including Telegram, Discord, Riot/Element
• Plan regular events, online and offline, for the developer and non-technical communities
• Work closely with engineering teams in Acala and her 3rd party blockchain partners
• Manage the relationship and strategy with any external marketing or PR agencies

What it takes

• 3+ years of hands-on Growth Marketing for a technical product, blockchain preferable
• Analytical and data-driven approach to building and nurturing technical communities
• Strong experience of the following: Twitter, Discord, Sprout, Telegram
• Native or near-native English with presidential communication skills
• A mature understanding of the emerging blockchain industry and cryptocurrencies
• BONUS: Software Development background / studies / hobby
