Sr. Developer Advocate

Wyre is on a mission to bring crypto to the masses.

To accomplish this mission, we’ve built a simple set of tools that allow developers to materialize their projects. Our fiat-to-crypto Checkout gateway is now being used by hundreds of applications (like MetaMask, Opera, Brave, and BRD) to offer the easiest way to convert card payments into crypto. Our flexible White-Label Payment APIs (Transfers API, Custody API, and Users API), enable developers to build e-wallets, merchant processing services, and money transfer platforms from the ground up.

We focus on compliance, licensing, liquidity, banking, and payment processing services so our partners can do what they do best, creating amazing tools on the blockchain.

To drive this vision forward, we’re looking for a Developer Advocate to help grow our developer community worldwide. As our first Developer Advocate, you’ll be integral in crafting the developer engagement strategy and executing on this critical piece our vision. You’ll educate and empower our developer community through scalable tutorials, speaking engagements, and integrated demos to unlock value for new and existing users.

Responsibilities

Developer experience engineering (70%)

• Contribute and own Wyre’s API documentation
• Inspire and educate developers of Wyre’s potential through building applications and proactively reaching the intended audience
• Become embedded in the Wyre’s developer community to deeply understand developer concerns and needs
• Develop a forward-looking strategy for what the developer experience should be over the next 1, 5, 10 years
• Identify product gaps and opportunities to better serve our developers
• Develop education and documentation to help developers succeed
• Contribute to answering open questions, supporting key community initiatives, building out documentation and other docs
• Identify gaps that are needed to meet the needs of developers, and design and manifest creative solutions to meet these needs

Developer community management (30%)

• Devise and execute on a strategic plan to grow our developer community
• Represent Wyre in the community forum and produce relevant one-to-many educational resources
• Wear several hats and do things that may not scale in the early days to help kick-start the community

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a developer relations or advocate role
• Ability to balance interests of many activities on your plate
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• You are confident and comfortable presenting to audiences large and small
• A firm grasp of open source software development, with an intimate understanding of how projects get built and maintained over time
• You are a self-starter who takes initiative and is energized by building a young community
• You are a natural teacher and are passionate about helping others fulfill their potential
• Involvement in planning in-person and virtual events to convene developers.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with analytics tools (SQL, Tableau, etc.)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and excel in a cross-functional environment
