Data Scientist

Volt Protocol is a stablecoin system with a native stablecoin called VOLT. Unlike most stablecoins, VOLT is not pegged to any existing currency. Instead, it is stable in regards to the consumer price index (CPI), meaning that holders of VOLT have their purchasing power protected against inflation. Depositors mint VOLT by supplying another stablecoin such as FEI, or borrowing on their crypto assets such as wstETH (wrapped staked Ether) or liquidity pool tokens. Holders maintain a stable purchasing power.

Our seed round supporters include expert contributors in decentralized finance (incl. founders of Rari, Fei, Frax, Tokemak) and DeFi native funds (seed round led jointly by Framework Ventures and Nascent).

As our lead Data Scientist, you’ll be responsible for analyzing liquidity pool constraints, peg stability trends, and other protocol mechanisms such as bonding. You’ll also be responsible for simulating modifications to these systems with accurate mathematical models, ensuring that we can achieve our goals of stability, liquidity, and profitability.

You’ll also be creating front-facing models that users of the protocol can see, such as protocol runway, bond unlock times, and projected income from various sources such as variable rate lending and gauge voting payments.

The ideal candidate for this position is a passionate DeFi-native analyst who has a commitment to accuracy and depth within their modeling.

What we’re looking for:

  • Talented and motivated data analyst looking for growth with a deep understanding of DeFi economics and protocol design
  • Partial daily overlap with PST required, ability to physically locate in Los Angeles or San Francisco preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated interest in web3 — you have firsthand experience as a user of web3 which informs your ability to make important economic decisions for the protocol
  • Talented python engineer with experience modeling and pulling on chain data
