About the protocol

Verto.Exchange is the decentralized exchange (DEX) powering the Arweave blockchain ecosystem, acting as the beating heart for the permaweb.

Verto was founded as a network of trading posts that compete to process trade orders issued in the Verto.Exchange protocol, providing liquidity for the profit sharing tokens (PSTs) of Arweave ecosystem projects. PSTs are governance tokens issued by profit-sharing communities (PSCs) associated with decentralized projects that provide for economic participation.

Verto is evolving to an automated market making (AMM) platform, enabling users to discover and trade fungible tokens, non-fungible tokens (NFTS), and protocols across the Arweave ecosystem by giving developers the ability to create custom layouts and designs on the Verto.Exchange platform.

Opportunity

Here at Verto.Exchange, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join the team who is experienced in blockchain smart contracts, interested in the Arweave ecosystem and JavaScript, and excited to help build the beating heart of the only permanent information storage network.

What you’ll do

As a Full Stack Developer you will work directly with the founders and core team to help evolve Verto from an order book driven platform to an AMM, improve UX, and execute against an aggressive product roadmap over the next several months.

Your focus will include:

• Learn and develop on blockweave
• Support front-end application growth
• Participate in the choices of engineering methodologies, tools and organization
• Keep yourself up-to-date with the rapidly evolving blockweave ecosystem and drive changes in the protocol and the team
• Work autonomously inside a small high performing team
• Support the developer community with Arweave and to build around Verto.Exchange
• Build tools for our community to integrate into their own platforms (i.e. JS libraries for Verto trading functionality, ArConnect library updates, etc.)

About you

• Excited about the possibilities of Arweave and the permaweb, and a willingness to learn about lazily-evaluated SmartWeave contracts
• Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, databases, distributed systems, operating systems, networking, and in particular Javascript, Typescript, Node.js, and React
• Good understanding of git and continuous integration tools
• Self-motivated, innovative, and proactive
• Ability to take responsibility for projects and the willingness to learn and grow professionally in a team environment, as part of a small core team

Bonus nice-to-have

• Previous experience working with Blockchain-based applications, smart contracts, and dapps
