Frontend Engineer

Vertex is a DeFi protocol specializing in on-chain FX markets, derivatives and leveraged products.

We have recently launched our MVP on testnet and are looking for a talented frontend engineer to join the team! The role would entail working alongside the CTO to build out the dApp’s UI/UX. Prior experience building dApps and knowledge with smart contracts is a plus!

About Vertex Protocol

Vertex sets out to create the infrastructure and mechanisms necessary to bring real-world money markets and genuine financial products on-chain.

Our vision at inception was to create a multi-currency future for Anchor. We have since started our focus on FX markets to help realize that vision and have created:

• Technology to support spot and derivative instruments
• A clearinghouse capable of handling a range of trading instruments

These contracts will help enable FX trading on-chain and bring a range of composability and integration to Terra that was lacking previously. Our Initial MVP will be a decentralized, cross-margin trading platform launched on Terra’s testnet. It will support leveraged trading and liquidity providing, first for perpetuals and then margined spot.

Responsibilities

• Work with smart contract and backend engineers to interface with Vertex Protocol contracts on the Terra blockchain
• Work with UI/UX designers and product managers to define and implement accessible, polished, and user-friendly Defi experiences
• Help contribute to product and roadmap planning by providing technical input

Requirements

• 2+ years experience with building large-scale, maintainable production web-apps with React.js
• Understanding and proficiency with Typescript and Next.js
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of TailwindCSS or a similar styling framework
• Experience with building Web3 applications (ex. using web3.js or ethers.js)
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred

• Existing understanding of Terra (with Terra.js)
• Has experience building a web3 dApp
• Familiarity with smart contract and defi concepts
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

The ideal candidate will have the drive/ability to take ownership over feature development and apply their understanding of defi concepts into influencing product decisions.
