The Institute For the Future (IFF) is a cross-disciplinary research institute at UNIC, pursuing world-class research and education at the intersection of exponential technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence and augmented/virtual reality. IFF hosts more than 40 faculty, researchers and support staff from UNIC and partner institutions and, among other activities, runs the world’s first full academic program in blockchain education since 2014 (MSc in Digital Currency), hosts a large number of research projects funded by the European Commission and industry, and organizes Europe’s premier annual business blockchain and crypto-currency conference (Decentralized). Recently, IFF has launched a new initiative to foster research on the blockchain-based Metaverse space with launching NFTValuations for calculating market capitalizations for Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collections. Job Description

We are looking for a talented Blockchain Developer/Architect to join our fast-growing team. The successful candidate will join the DLRC team and contribute towards various implementation tasks. Mostly building decentralized applications on Solidity and the use of well-known Ethereum libraries (Web3js, ethers).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Solidity smart contracts.
  • Deploy smart contracts with Truffle or Hardhat.
  • Design and develop front-end interfaces to interact with the smart contracts (Web3js, ethers).
  • Design and develop the back-end operations that support a decentralized application (RESTful APIs).
  • Write technical documentation.
  • Maintain source code and troubleshoot systems.
  • Participating to various implementation activities of the IFF research group.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Maths or Physics. A Master’s degree in a related field will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience with 2+ years in Solidity programming with a deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine.
  • Deep understanding of having worked with smart contracts and understanding the core protocol concepts.
  • Understand ERC-20, ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token standards
  • JSON database operations.
  • Knowledgeable about Layer-2 technologies.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration tools and blockchain management tools (Truffle or Hardhat).
  • Working experience in DevOps environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with cryptography and experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
  • Javascript front-end development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and high-quality output.
  • In general, you should be fascinated about the development of decentralized applications.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and able to tackle challenging, complex problems in an individual or team-based setting.

This is a full-time position with the option of remote work
