Lead Engineer

As our Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in laying the technical foundation for Spektrum Labs’ future growth. To date, our founder and skilled team of consultants have been responsible for developing our products. Given our strong client base, imminent need to scale and need to incorporate cutting edge technologies into our products, we are now seeking an in-house leader who can accelerate current development efforts while also contributing to the high-level, technology strategy behind our products as traction has accelerated in the past quarter.

About Spektrum Labs:

Spektrum Labs™ builds software at the intersection of cyber security and cyber insurance. Spektrum™ is the platform of record for capturing, exchanging, and utilizing cyber posture, threat, and incident data, unlocking AI and blockchain use cases through tokenization of the cyber security and insurance stack.

Founded in August 2021, Spektrum Labs has been iterating in stealth mode with key design partners to identify initial product market fit. Now fully capitalized for our next phase of growth, and with an influx of usage, we are ready to build out our core team. Our investors include leaders in insurance, cybersecurity and blockchain.

About the Role:

As our Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in laying the technical foundation for Spektrum Labs’ future growth. Given our strong client base, imminent need to scale and need to incorporate cutting edge technologies into our products, we are now seeking an in-house leader who can accelerate current development efforts while also contributing to the high-level, technology strategy behind our products as traction has accelerated in the past quarter.

You will:

• Collaborate closely with the CEO to align technology with overall business and product objectives.
• Own the entire engineering function including software engineering, QA, SRE, and DevSecOps.
• Enhance and strengthen our platform by implementing a suite of improvements and automations, elevating its overall efficiency and performance.
• Define and establish the foundational architectural framework, ensuring its robustness and scalability as the cornerstone of the organization’s product.
• Drive the engineering function through seed appropriate maturity and beyond.

About You:

You are an enthusiastic and self-driven engineer who is excited to build products that will transform an industry (in our case, cyber insurance). You are eager to explore and apply cutting-edge technologies, such as tokenization, generative AI, and blockchain technology to power real-world applied use cases. Translating concepts into code is second nature to you. You thrive in dynamic environments, and adeptly manage the balance between addressing technical debt and implementing robust solutions. You’re excited to contribute to a small, dynamic, close knit team operating in a fast-paced and energetic environment.

You are:

• Resourceful, and able to balance progress with perfection in efficient product delivery.
• User focused, with a product manager mindset.
• Able to work cross functionally with technical and non-technical teams to drive towards business goals.
• Experienced at building scalable systems with robust software design skills.
• Proficient in managing infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Committed to high software engineering standards, including comprehensive testing and documentation.
• Interested or experienced in AI and large language models.
• Seeking ownership and autonomy in a role fostering professional and personal growth.
• Bonus: Knowledgeable and experienced in blockchain, zkp, and smart contracts.

What You’ll Bring:

• Understanding of secure data management, including private keys, endpoint implementation, and smart contract transactions.
• Relational database experience.
• Experience in at least some of the following: .NET core, Angular, RESTful APIs, Python, Flask, MSSQL, GraphQL
