About the Role

• Our smart contract team is developing novel DeFi primitives to serve as foundational financial infrastructure. We’re looking for an experienced engineer to fill the role of core engineer.
• Responsibilities:
• Work closely with our CTO to design the specification, high level architecture, and future roadmap for the Rift Protocol.
• Lead development of the Rift Protocol on EVM based blockchains, managing the full software development life cycle.
• Contribute to open source projects that we use and that benefit the DeFi ecosystem.
• Execute code reviews for other engineers on the team.
• Lead the vision for and help build out our smart contracts team.
• Implement core protocol functionality in Solidity.
• Write thorough test coverage of all smart contract functionality.
• Create deployment scripts and integrations for cross-chain deployments of the protocol.
• Constantly research the frontier of smart contracts, and think critically about how the Rift Protocol may be able to integrate the latest innovations across the crypto ecosystem.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in a backend software engineering role.
• Experience with systems engineering and optimization, and interacting with virtual machines at the opcode level.
• Extensive experience managing the software development life cycle for medium to large projects
• Contributions to open source projects
