Senior Javascript Engineer for NFT project

Looking for a Developer skilled in React, Web3 technologies, and Typescript to join us in building the first (and only) NFT Prediction Market. We are a remote-first company, have only two meetings per week, and work very flexible hours. We offer a salary of $80k-100k, equity, and 27 vacation days. About Us

Reality Cards is the only NFT Prediction Market that connects the virtual and physical worlds! NFTs are the hottest trend in the web3 space, and we are changing the way that you experience real-world events by allowing anyone to collect digital tokens that are inspired by real-life events.

We are having a working product, currently in the Beta phase, and a full roadmap of great ideas for which we need talented and excited developers to help us bring them to life, go and check out realitycards.io!

Requirements

• Good knowledge of javascript. We expect you will be up to date with the current standards and best practices.
• Experience with React. This is our main tool, we need you to have prior professional experience with the framework.
• Ability to write tests using Jest and Cypress. As a financial product, any shipped code needs to be tested truthfully.
• An understanding of Typescript, GraphQL, and REST API concepts.
• The role is focused on Javascript so CSS knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Web3 and Blockchain knowledge is a bonus but not required.

Your day-to-day tasks

• Participating and directly influencing the evolution of our product as one of the main developers at Reality Cards.
• Building new features and fixing bugs. Every week we are working on something new, so fixing bugs and improving our code base by refactoring and decreasing technology debt will be a big part of your responsibilities.
• Writing unit and integration tests. We are not aiming for 100% coverage, but we want our business logic to be well tested.
• Attending team calls. We will schedule two (yep, just two) calls per week. Besides that we have spontaneous calls when necessary. We don’t like to micro-manage, so we expect an adequate level of self organisation.

Salary and time off

We offer a base salary of $80k-100k. In addition to the salary, equity in the company through our future token. And you will be entitled to 27 vacation days, including bank holidays in your country.

Our work culture

Our company’s remote-first nature plays a big role in defining our work culture. We have a very flexible schedule but are trying to be active around the European time zone. Everyone works on their own time, while keeping communication open to update the team and not leave anyone behind.

We will never ask you to work on the weekends. We don’t deploy any code on Fridays so no-one needs to work on Saturday if something goes wrong.

The Reality Cards team often plays games together, with Among Us and poker being a few of the games we have played in the past. This is our way of socialising. We joke, we laugh, sometimes we swear, but we are polite and respect each other.

How to apply

1. We will set up an initial call to get to know each other. We’d like to know your background and answer any questions you may have. It will take around 30 minutes.
2. We will give you a short task to do. This assignment will involve real world problems you must solve, but it won’t involve crazy JS quirks that people never meet. We don’t want you to spend more than 2 hours on this.
3. We will set up a technical interview. We will talk about your aforementioned task and ask some additional questions. Questions will be based on real-world issues that we are facing every day. We are not going to ask you to explain how the event loop works. This will take around 1-1,5 hours. This is also a time for you to ask questions, as we want to be open to you.
