We are looking for a Technical Editor to help us with ensuring the continuous and consistent quality of our written materials and client deliverables (such as reports, papers, guides, articles, help files, specifications, instructions, and other forms of documentation for the Security Consulting team). The Technical Editor will be responsible for checking the accuracy and quality of written materials, so that they adhere to Least Authority’s voice and quality standard, and that written materials are refined and polished prior to delivery. This role provides support to our security consulting team to deliver value to our clients and community through high quality work.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Fact checking and ensuring the accuracy of written materials through close collaboration with the project management and security research team;
- Copy edit and proofread written materials for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation such that they are refined and polished at completion;
- Review and analyze written materials to maintain flow of readability, voice, continuity of style of content, and quality standard;
- Aid in research, writing, editing, and proofreading of complex technical data;
- Evaluate and recommend revisions to standards and guidelines;
- Document style guidelines, conventions, and standards for texts and illustrations for technical documentation as they are agreed upon;
- Provide editing and proofreading support to other team members;
- Review, revise, modify, or edit documents prepared by others in accordance with quality standards;
- Contribute to the maintenance and management of updates and revisions to the Security Consulting knowledge base;
- Work closely and communicate regularly with Project Managers in order to understand tasks and meet deadlines for deliverables; and
- Lead the effort to ensure that all written materials (such as reports) strictly adhere to quality standards, including the Quality Assurance Checklist.

- Blockchain, cryptocurrency and Web 3.0 systems;
- Open source software and development practices;
- Security best practices and threat modelling; and
- Privacy Enhancing Technologies and secure communications tools.
This is a full-time position.
