Backend Engineer

Ip.world is a platform for launching memecoins remixed from popular IPs. We’re reimagining how communities can speculate on the virality of their favorite creative works in a way that allows IP owners and their remixers to collaborate and earn rewards. Our goal is to bridge crypto and mainstream consumer culture by building the ultimate memecoin playground for tokenized IP remixing.

Role

We are looking for a backend engineer to build the infrastructure for powering our IP backed memecoin platform. You will lead efforts in ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, building out efficient data indexing and event sourcing pipelines, and designing our API layer. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience building high-performance backend systems and has basic familiarity or exposure to the memecoin ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build out various backend services in Golang for data aggregation and syncing
• Scale infrastructure using Kubernetes, CDNs, and cloud platforms (GCP)
• Engineer a secure, high-performance API layer to support both internal platform operations and extensible third-party integrations
• Create our database, caching and data ingestion workflows to support fast querying and saving of data using Postgres and Redis
• Build and optimize an efficient indexing solution for supporting fast searching and filtering of metadata using Elasticsearch
• Develop a robust API layer to serve our platform actions and queries, and for future 3rd party integrations using golang
• Collaborate with frontend engineering teams to implement WebSocket solutions for real-time features including leaderboards, live updates, and user notification systems

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience working as a backend engineer (or equivalent role)
• Deep proficiency in building backend systems using Golang
• Experience working with Postgres, Redis, and Elasticsearch (or similar technologies)
• Familiarity with WebSockets and building real-time events and notifications systems
• Knowledge of basic CI / CD (e.g. using GH Actions paired with Terraform for IaC)
• Experience designing and building out scalable backend systems in various cloud environments (AWS / GCP) using container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Has exposure to crypto, particularly in building any kind of DeFi or SocialFi apps
• Passionate about the memecoin or crypto ecosystem
