Job description

We are looking for a Lead Engineer that can help us with launching interBTC. You will enable us to ship new features to our community by coordinating tasks with the team and implement novel research.

You are our perfect candidate if you have a strong track record of implementing and releasing TypeScript code (front-end or back-end applications) as well as managing open-source teams and projects.

You are both a passionate software engineer that cares deeply about maintainable code, tests, and type systems as well as a great communicator that values teamwork in an agile and remote environment.

You are ideally passionate about DeFi and crypto-currencies and have the drive to solve novel issues.

What you will do

• Prioritize, plan, and coordinate the implementation of new features including integrations with other projects and novel research together with the team
• Ensure that our bridge at https://bridge.interlay.io/ is running and resolve issues in production timely and efficiently
• Implement new features for our interBTC bridge in our open-source library (https://github.com/interlay/interbtc-js) and the React-based front-end application
• Review pull requests of other team members and give constructive feedback to refactor/improve our current implementation
• Drive our open-source efforts to release useful libraries back to the open source community (e.g., our monetary lib)
• Prepare product demos for partner integrations and investors

What you bring

• Proven 5+ years experience in implementing and maintaining TypeScript code including front-end applications, libraries, and/or back-end applications
• Proven 2+ years experience managing remote software engineering teams or projects ideally in an open-source project
• Thorough understanding of testing best practices, continuous integration and delivery as well as UI monitoring
• Enjoy working in agile teams and a knack for improving the development process in collaboration with the team
• Outstanding communication and planning skills

Nice to have

• You are a DeFi/cryptocurrency user
• You have experience in testing automation tools/monitoring tools such as Datadog
• Prior work with libraries we use including React, polkadot.js, ethers.js
