Hyperion Decimus is a digital asset manager led by HFT experts that approaches investing in the cryptocurrency space from a perspective of market structure and liquidity arbitrage. By taking a disciplined, tech-driven, multi-strategy approach to the cryptocurrency universe, we seek to generate alpha over short and long term time horizons and constantly challenge our assertions with data.
We’re excited to add new associates from the Class of 2022 and summer interns. You’ll be directly mentored by our technical lead, Kamal Mokeddem and take on a range of projects and responsibilities around infrastructure scalability, strategy enhancements, exchange connectivity, and pushing new initiatives forward – including a new staking/yield fund. While crypto is our focus, we’re building our infrastructure agnostic to asset class.
Prior to Hyperion, Kamal co-founded Omniex (and still acts as an advisor to the team), which provides institutional grade trading solutions for cryptocurrencies and is the platform Hyperion first leveraged for global connectivity to crypto exchanges. He’s made a career out of building technical solutions from scratch, then directly mentoring high potential new grads and providing tons of responsibility and early career growth opportunities.
We have a long standing reputation of integrity, transparency, and client-centric virtue, led by prominent HFT trader and author Haim Bodek, who worked at the center of Wall Street and electronic trading working at Goldman Sachs, UBS, and running his own startup until 2011. He then became an SEC whistleblower which resulted in the two largest fines against stock exchanges in US history for providing features to high frequency traders that were used to abuse customers.
We were founded in 2018 as a joint venture between Bodek’s Decimus Capital Markets and Chris Sullivan’s Hyperion Capital. HFT expert Haim Bodek leads crypto launch.
“Money which is current only because people have been forced to accept it is wholly different from money that has come to be accepted because people trust the issuer to keep it stable…If we want free enterprise and a market economy to survive…we have no choice but to replace the governmental currency monopoly and national currency systems by free competition between private banks of issue.” – F.A. Hayek, 1974 Nobel Laureate in Economics
Only the emergence of the crypto-space made Hayek’s vision possible, facilitated through the technological innovation of blockchain. As a devoted and diverse digital asset manager, Hyperion Decimus seeks to add long term value to the space by leveraging our team’s combined expertise in investment strategy and execution services across High Frequency Trading, Market-Making, Algorithmic Trading, Technology, Machine Learning and Alternative Investments.
