Systems Analyst

The Role

The Fidelity Institutional Technology group is seeking a Systems Analyst to be part of an elite squad working on FI Digital Assets.

The focus of this position will involve driving the technical analysis to support the Fidelity Institutional Crypto fast follows and product growth, with the build out of a centralized hub to manage Digital Assets. The systems analyst will support the integration, design, and build out of the new Digital Asset ‘Hub’ for our Fidelity Institutional clients. A successful systems analyst will be a key member of an agile/scrum team responsible for delivering account opening, quotes, positions, balances, and transactional activity user interfaces that support Digital Assets for advisors.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required, with aptitude for business systems design and solutions
• 2+ years of experience as an Analyst with software application development
• Highly effective written and verbal communication is a must
• Experience working in Agile development methodologies
• Ability to distill business processes and objectives into well-defined epics/stories/requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills to effectively tackle complex business problems
• Ability to work through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience, and judgment
• Knowledge with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is a plus
• Conceptual knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON and APIs is desired
• Understanding of and passion for Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology a plus

• Relevant exposure or experience in various systems analysis methodologies, including data analysis, data mapping, flowcharts, uses case development, story writing, set-up / configuration of systems, gap analysis, user acceptance testing and product documentation

The Value You Deliver

• Provide systems analysis support on an Agile team that includes multiple business and technology partners (cross business unit, cross domain).
• Collaborate with multiple other Agile teams (Scaled Agile) to lead dependencies and scope.
• Work with business and technology partners to define the scope of problems/issues, in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
• Work with Agile team to develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and story maps.
• Lead backlog refinement sessions. Translate complex business needs into clear, practical, requirements/user stories. Research and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Evaluate design of existing systems to judge their functionality, efficiency, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability, and cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with Agile team members to build comprehensive and cohesive solution approaches.
• Assist in devising the Agile team’s analysis strategy.
• Provide support in estimating, planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work.
• Apply documentation standards and best practices.

Fidelity Institutional provides products and services to banks, broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, family offices, and other financial intermediaries to meet their brokerage and banking needs. The FI technology platform is an integrated collection of products and services that are delivered to these external clients, primarily via web-based and mobile applications, application programming interfaces, transmission files, and collaborates with third-party applications.
