Senior Java Backend Developer

The Eucalyptus Labs team is growing!

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with senior-level experience to co-lead development of our backend micro-services supporting our main product Koala Wallet. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of industry experience and at least 4-5 years of experience in Java Spring Boot development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-lead development of our backend micro-services using Java Spring Boot
• Design and deploy databases using PostgreSQL
• Perform DevOps tasks, including monitoring, deploying, CI/CD, and migrating
• Implement new features in a test driven development fashion
• Communicate and coordinate with product managers and front end developers
• Implement features using best practices and modern standards
• Prioritize quality over quantity and making important decisions regarding avoiding technical debt

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Maven, and Git
• Exceptional test-driven development patterns
• Understanding engineering best practices
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in software engineering
• At least 5-7 years of experience in Java backend development
• At least 4-5 years Spring Boot microservice developed with Java
• Experience in designing and implementing web services (REST and Websockets)
• Experience in Linux-based DevOps

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Cryptocurrencies, blockchains, wallets
• Expert level understanding and experience with Object Oriented Programming
• Passionate for learning and new technologies, self motivated
