Software Engineer

Celestia is seeking a remote full-time Software Engineer to help lead the design and implementation of core features of our blockchain protocol including node software, p2p networking and roll-up execution environments. Experience with Golang is required. Blockchain experience is preferred although not required, however you will be expected to learn on the job.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Celestia system components
• Contribute readable, well-tested, and well-documented code
• Participate in technical discussions on issues and code reviews on pull request
• Be part of the feedback loop between specification and implementation
• Help build a welcoming environment to onboard additional team members and third-party open source contributors

Required experience

• Experience with Golang
• Experience with building maintainable and documented codebases
• Experience with open source project development tools (e.g. GitHub, git)
• Native proficiency in English
• Blockchain experience is preferred but not required

Nice to have

• Live within timezones UTC-5:00 (US Eastern Time) and UTC+5:00 (Central Asia)
• Previous remote work experience
• Familiarity with layer-1 blockchain protocol design and development
• Experience working with virtual machines, interpreters, or compilers
• Experience with IPFS, libp2p, or bittorrent
• Experience with Tendermint
• Experience with the Cosmos SDK
• Familiarity with distributed systems
