Role Summary:

As the Data Science Lead you will own all data science related efforts across the organization. The role involves designing, building and optimizing our risk assessment and treasury management products. You’ll work closely with the engineering, product and finance teams to identify challenges and opportunities, and drive the data science efforts to address them. The role reports to the CTO and is expected to manage future data science team hires.

Responsibilities:

• Apply data science best practices to design and build Almond’s crypto risk optimization tools.
• Work with engineering, product and finance teams to inform data science roadmap
• Assess new corridor expansion opportunities, including new crypto exchange and other financial institution partners.
• Inform the trajectory of the Data Science team, advise on hiring efforts and eventually manage the Data Science team.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of quantitative trading or data science experience with a crypto exchange.
• Crypto-specific quantitative analysis, statistical modeling and loss forecasting analysis experience.
• Demonstrated experience with ML models in crypto trading applications.
• Fluency with industry standard data analytics and visualization tools.
• Managerial experience in an international environment.
• Takes personal ownership; self-starter; ability to drive projects with minimal guidance and focus on high impact work.
• Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortability with ambiguity and the fast-paced nature of a Series A organization.
• Bachelor’s degrees in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, data science, computer science, engineering, operations research, or mathematics); preferably an advanced degree.
