Intern - Technical Product Management

Algorand is looking for an Intern - Technical Product Management in our Boston Office to support our Product and Developer Relations teams in building out code examples for the developer community. This is an opportunity for an active university student who is genuinely excited by the possibility of a career in product/engineering, passionate about working in a developing field, and has an interest in open source technologies, blockchain, and/or cryptocurrency.

In this role, you will prototype different types of DeFi applications on Algorand and publish accompanying code and written explanations on the Algorand Developer Portal. You will also write code templates as part of a new curriculum that will teach developers everything from sending their first transaction to building smart contract applications.

A stellar candidate will have high standards for code quality, evident from past projects or homework assignments. They will seek to provide instructive, concise, and well-organized code and uphold language-specific style guidelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Write full code prototypes of interesting use cases, plus written explanations to be published on the Algorand Developer Portal.
• Write concise, organized and instructive code templates to accompany a curriculum for developers in at least one SDK language (Go, Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Run user testing and research studies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Evidence of high proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Go, Python, JavaScript (bonus points for proficiency in JS frameworks like React, Vue, etc.).
• For the programming languages they are proficient in, they will demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to style guides. Knowledge or coursework in cryptography is a plus.
• Active university student (must be returning in the Fall) in a related field
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Participation in open source software projects preferred
• Creative, approachable, energetic, “can-do” attitude with ability to change direction in a dynamic environment

Internships at Algorand are non-exempt temporary positions, with hourly rates set to market standards. You must be a matriculated university student, scheduled to return in the Fall.
