About Us

Colony is an open source framework for Decentralized Autonomous Organisations (DAOs). Our tools allow groups of people to collectively manage money, make decisions, and receive compensation according to their merit, without the need for trust or tedious bureaucracy.

Colony is a distributed team who occasionally (pandemics permitting ) convene somewhere in the world to work and hang out together. The rest of the time, we communicate over Discord. It’s a dynamic environment that requires grit, flexibility, self-motivation, and a sense of emoji etiquette.

The Role

We are looking for a community unicorn: that rare combination of excellent public communicator, community manager, and knowledgeable DAO/Ethereum/decentralization enthusiast.

You will play a critical role in engaging and educating the community around Colony’s value proposition. You will build upon and engage our already substantial community, and identify relevant new communities to educate.

The role will include:

• Writing articles, blog posts, and engaging the community via Discord, Twitter, email, and Reddit
• Identifying and engaging with relevant communities to build awareness of Colony; discover their needs, and engage with relevant thought-leaders
• Interviewing thought leaders in target communities, being interviewed in press and podcasts, presenting at meetups and conferences, and generally evangelizing for Colony and DAOs
• Engaging with the developer community to encourage development on top of the protocol

We have very high standards, and we believe in self organisation. We only hire people who are able to do a job better than we could do it ourselves—we don’t want to have to manage you. The successful candidate will be overflowing with communication strategies to drive engagement with Colony.

You will be fluent in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills. We don’t mind where you are based, so long as your hours overlap to a reasonable extent with the rest of our team of eleven. We’re all in Europe and the Americas, so if you live in Australasia, that might mean becoming nocturnal.

The salary range shown here reflects the fact that we are a remote team and hire worldwide. We pay salaries in line with local salaries in your region as informed by tools like payscale.com.
